Green Light District
Salina stands anxiously on the corner as she waits for the cross-walk signal to flash the all clear sign. She has been walking this circuit since she was a child without incident or injury. Even when there are no cars on the road, no danger, she prefers to walk out of her way in order to cross at the light – it’s safer that way. As pedestrians and good citizens, we are trained to walk when the light flashes “walk” and to wait when the light flashes “don’t walk”. It’s gloriously simple – respond as directed, green light means go, stay on the black and white striped path and all will be well.
On this day, things were not well. Salina was feeling a bit panicked as she failed to set her clock forward to adjust for the time change. This would be the third time in as many weeks that she has been late for work. She is convinced that no good comes from this bi-annual ritual and reflects upon the nature of time and its effects on our behavior. As she entertains this thought she presses the button on the light pole and waits for permission to cross.
There was no indication of any problems aside from a small ambiguous notice on the pole stating to “proceed with caution”. Salina, racing against time, did not see the notice much less read it. Beyond that, nothing seemed like it was out of place. No distinguishable changes presented themselves. The pedestrian sign flashed “walk” and so she stepped off the curb and proceeded to walk across. Her phone beeping, indicating a new text message had arrived, she diverted her attention to it without breaking her stride.
Why did she step into the street if the light was green?
In that moment, the driver too had been distracted as he clumsily placed his hot coffee cup back into the cup holder after burning his mouth with the too hot beverage. His eyes now shifting back to the task of driving he is startled by the girl that appears in front of him. Frantically, he hits the brakes.
By the time she saw the car it was too late.
Salina lay crumpled on the pavement, cradling her head, dazed and in shock. The driver, certain the light had been green, was beside himself with confusion and guilt. Why did she step into the street if the light was green? The ambulance quickly took her to the ER and examinations were made with no serious issues detected. She was sent home with some pain medication to treat the awful headache she developed as a result of the accident. Given the circumstances, a headache was a small price to pay considering the worst case scenario.
It’s three days on now and she still isn’t feeling right. She decides to go back to the hospital for another check-up. Again, they didn’t find any sign of serious injury and she’s told that sometimes the trauma itself can induce a delayed biological response and exaggerate “symptoms”. Perhaps they were right. She was just feeling the after effects of the trauma. She went home, went to bed… and never woke up again. Sadly, Salina died from an undetected brain bleed.
Coincidentally, there had been other injuries at the same location but correlation, as they say, does not equal causation.
What is the cause of death? Technically, the brain injury was the cause of death. What preceded the brain injury? The collision with the automobile. What preceded the collision? This is where it gets interesting… turns out, the City was aware of the glitch with the lights at that very intersection. They were having problems troubleshooting the issue but since it happened very rarely (1 in every 100,000 signal changes) the experts ran a statistical analysis of all known data points and decided the risk of injury was so low as to be negligible. Further, the team assigned to correct the problem had been temporarily reassigned to a revenue generating project with a big technology company they had recently partnered with – profit over people?
The small sign on the light pole was the legal notice of indemnity for the City should any accidents result from this intermittent malfunction. Coincidentally, there had been other injuries at the same location but correlation, as they say, does not equal causation so these injuries were not included in their analysis. Also of note, it’s on record that the responsible parties assigned to fix this problem notified their own family members to avoid this intersection for obvious reasons because one could easily take other routes with less risk.
Despite the Cities indemnity claims, Salina’s family decided to file a lawsuit against them. It was crystal clear to the family where the fault lay and they thought surely the courts would see this obvious truth. Predictably, they lost the case due to the indemnity clause that provided full immunity for the City and the defendant’s council argued that, since not everyone that sustains a head injury dies as a result, the victim may have had a pre-existing condition that contributed to her untimely demise. Now, burdened by legal, medical and funeral expenses, the family reluctantly sued the driver as the City claimed he was to blame for “driving while distracted”.
Is it all just an awful tragedy and no one is at fault?
And just like that – the people trained to trust their government, drive through green lights and walk when the sign tells them to walk – were buried. One through life destroying litigation and the other six feet in the ground. The City, enjoying its immunity from prosecution, didn’t bother to fix the problem until their project with the technology company was finished. In that time, there had been several more needless deaths. Strangely, the public, satisfied with the media blitzkrieg campaign that exhonorated the City, continued to support the questionable actions of the town’s leadership.
In your mind, ultimately, who should be held to account for the death of this young woman? Is the City at fault for failing to fix or mitigate the problem with the lights? Does the driver of the car bear responsibility for “driving while distracted”? Is the hospital culpable for failure to identify the injury? Does Salina bear any blame for failing to see the cryptic warning and “walking while distracted”? Is it all just an awful tragedy and no one is at fault? Should the intersection continue to operate under these conditions even though there is compelling evidence that it has caused unnecessary injury and death? Does it not stand to reason that if the City had closed down the intersection until the problem had been resolved that the odds of injury or death would have been less or nil?
Breaking it Down
I am interested to hear your thoughts and I will leave you with this… Routines make us feel safe and there isn’t anything particularly wrong with having them. I think it’s fair to say that routines can make us operate in a sleepy state of mind which leaves us vulnerable to outside influence. Growing up, we take all our cues from our parents and typically carry those views into our adulthood. We are taught to submit to authority even when they did nothing to nurture that respect. Through experience we discover our own truths and make huge assumptions about a great many things. Over time those truths crumble and we understand that we know very little about what we thought we knew.
For instance, if we were never harmed by doing a thing in the past than it couldn’t be as dangerous as some claim it to be, right? There is evidence for me and evidence for thee. Ultimately, we choose what fits our echo chamber and hope we are right.
“Hegel is an imperialist con artist who established the principles of dialectical “no-reason.” Hegel’s dialectic has allowed globalists to lead simple, capable, freeborn men and women back into the superstitious, racist and unreasonable age of imperial global dominance.”
We learn to accept and allow people in high society to make all our decisions for us and even make excuses for their behavior. Sounds like an abusive relationship if you ask me. We have entered the green light district wherein we tolerate political prostitutes in our midst and pay them to screw us over – generation after generation. I don’t know about you but I’d like to see this system shift into something that is mutually beneficial for all members of society. Let’s throw out the disastrous ideas of the Hegelian dialectic. It has done nothing but pit us against each other in order that we may be easily controlled and act in predictable ways that allow the power of government to increase – as our power decreases through compliance and ignorance.
Old Lady
From the start I had this hope that logic and common sense would win the day. As I watched in amazement as people angrily defended their belief in the pandemic and all its mandates – an old children’s song would come to my mind.
“There was an Old Lady that swallowed a fly. I don’t know why she swallowed that fly. Perhaps she’ll die”…
As a child, I enjoyed watching the teacher tell the story using her props – the old woman puppet, a patchwork of color, with a large mouth big enough to swallow all the unfortunate creatures in her quest to find a remedy… well, almost. It was such a source of amusement as I considered why the old woman thought she could solve one very small problem by creating much bigger ones!
In the end, she decides the best course of action is to swallow a horse… and dies of course. I believe this is exactly what is playing out before me. Watching people swallow bigger and bigger lies thinking they are doing the right thing to save themselves. They feel so insecure about it that they have to make a big show of it to stabilize their uncertainty and dump shame on anyone that doesn’t jump off the cliff with them. As we know, swallowing a fly, however disgusting, is not a life threatening event. Each nonsensical action built upon the previous action in an attempt to remedy a problem that was never a problem. Had she lost her mind? What will you do when they ask you to swallow a horse?
☹️ I am praying
Constant prayer and compassion for differences… My messaging is my therapy. I know it doesn’t reach the people in my life that mean the most to me. I can’t get rid of the lump in my throat as things continue to devolve around me and people gladly hand over their bodily autonomy in exchange for “freedom”. I’m sure you have probably heard Naomi Wolf discuss the ten steps to Fascism – we are at number ten. This was never about a virus.
EXACTLY !
It is a sad situation , so many are falling for the Vaccine shots. Humanity is being conned again, people never learn. I was hoping that my older siblings would know more than I, apparently they do not, NO WISDOM AT ALL.
A full awakening is coming in the near future and all who fell for the virus con job, will be bewildered as to WHY and HOW people of power can be so EVIL.
The trust people have in government agencies and corporate monopolies astonishes me still – given the extent of evidence from the past that clearly shows how evil the power holders can be. The division this circus has created between families is heartbreaking… all part of the plan though. After a year of pleading I know now that there is nothing I can say or do to persuade family to see what they cannot see. It’s done. Decisions have been made. And now we wait…
